Use this simple recipe with eucalyptus oil to soothe your sinuses while loosening congestion and relieving sinus pressure. If it’s your first time, the sensation may be intense. It’s an effective way to clear your sinuses.
For a more aggressive approach, substitute lemon, peppermint, melaleuca, or thyme oil instead the eucalyptus oil. Use caution, however, as these stronger oils are more powerful and could irritate your nasal passages.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED
1 drop of eucalyptus oil
ceramic mug
6 oz. of water, heated to a simmer
towel
a comfortable place to sit
—
MAKE IT: Gather all your supplies. Add a drop of oil to your mug. Pour simmering water into mug.
USE IT: Sit comfortably with the steaming mug in front of you. Place the towel over your head like a tent and lean forward over the mug. Close your eyes and carefully inhale the steam. As the water cools, the steam (and the oils) will become less intense. Keep tissues handy. Repeat until steam stops. Dump the contents of the mug. Do a few times a day for sinus relief.
